Huskies Slip Past Penn

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - Josh Newell gave the University of Washington a 9-8 overtime victory over the University of Pennsylvania, scoring a clutch goal with sixteen seconds remaining in the second overtime period. The two teams battled back and forth all game, evidenced by the contest's three ties and four lead changes.

Washington overcame a strong effort from Penn's Nick Kittredge, who scored four goals. The Huskies featured a balanced offensive attack with seven players tallying goals. Washington will play Arizona in the Fifth Place game tomorrow. Penn meets Georgia Tech in the Seventh Place contest.
