SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - The University of Florida was upset for a second time in three tournament games, losing 11-10 to Grand Valley State University. The Lakers and Gators battled back and forth the entire contest, the score was tied on six separate occasions. GVSU took a lead that it would not relinquish on a lob shot by Pat Lowman early in the fourth quarter. The Lakers then rode the hot shooting of JR VanderWall, six goals in the game, to the win. Lowman chipped in four goals for Grand Valley State while Alex Lopez led the Gators with two scores. GVSU advances to play Fresno State for Ninth Place tomorrow at 1:45 pm. Florida will play Washington University for Eleventh Place at 3:00 pm. |
