SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - Fresno State rode the hot shooting of Dave McMillin, five goals in the game, to a 16-11 victory over Grand Valley State in the Ninth Place game of the National Collegiate Club Championship. Grand Valley led for much of the first half, but the Bulldogs made a charge to close the gap before the half, highlighted by McMillin's tying goal with :44 remaining in the second quarter.

The third quarter was a tight affair, with Fresno emerging with an 11-10 lead. The Bulldogs then outscored the Lakers 5-1 in the final frame to produce the end result. Fresno State finished in Ninth Place with the victory while GVSU finished in Tenth Place.
