NOTE:  The GPA requirement for individuals is 3.2 cumulative, while the team GPA requirement is 2.75

To be selected, student-athletes must be active participants on the team and a full-time student at the institution which nominated them.  Freshmen through graduate students are eligible for the award.

Nominees must achieve a 3.2 cumulative Grade Point Average or higher based on the most recent grades (fall semester for men, spring semester for women).

Student-athletes were recognized in three levels: 3.2 to 3.4 (Excellent), 3.41 to 3.7 (Superior) and 3.71 to 4.0 (Outstanding).

In addition, varsity and club teams with cumulative GPA's at or above 2.75 are recognized by the conference for overall excellence.
